Developing a unique partnership asset for La Trobe University
The La Trobe University Tan Track Trail is a significant community resource which is planned as a 3km pedestrian running route around the La Trobe University campus. The track forms an important part of the broader strategy to transform the University’s Melbourne campus into a new University City that integrates the University and its local community. The University is seeking investment through partnerships with public and private organisations to complete construction, deliver required amenities for track users and support future development of the track. To assist with sourcing investment, the University required expert external support to develop the partnership proposition and associated sales assets to take to market.
Identifying and articulating the value of the partnership proposition
Kinetica was commissioned to the develop the Tan Track Trail partnership proposition and the sales collateral. The key work-streams included in the project were as follows:
- Fact base – Review of existing information on the Tan Track Trail asset, internal stakeholder consultation to identify opportunities to connect with aligned University capabilities and capacities and identification of relevant sector trends / best practice
- Strategy building blocks – Utilising the developed fact base to create key elements of the partnership strategy including purpose and objectives, target sector identification and profiling, partnership value proposition, partnership structure, packages and valuation
- Sales toolkit – Articulation and presentation of partnership proposition and key assets and development of sales collateral e.g., pitch deck.
Building the partnership marketing toolkit for success
The Tan Track Trail will deliver social and health benefits to the surrounding community and provide strong engagement opportunities for public and private organisations. Kinetica ensured that the partnership proposition clearly articulates the unique opportunities the asset offers and the tangible value it will deliver to prospective partners. The sales toolkit and associated collateral has armed the internal team at La Trobe to take the opportunity to market with confidence and clarity.
