Sport development through Netball in the Pacific
Netball Australia plays a significant role in sport for development initiatives in Pacific countries including Tonga, Samoa and Papua New Guinea. Netball Australia receives funding from the Australian Government for the delivery of programs in partnership with local netball and community organisations designed to generate positive impacts on health and social outcomes and stakeholder relationships in key regions. As a condition of its funding, Government requires Netball to report on the outputs delivered and outcomes generated.
Evaluating and reporting on program impacts
Kinetica was commissioned by MSAC to utilise our unique localised sport and recreation data and planning tools to provide analysis of and implications for strategy given current and future demand for sport and recreation participation opportunities and MSAC’s capability and capacity to meet this demand. The key analysis streams are summarised below:
- Program Logic – identification and articulation of the key objectives, desired outputs and outcomes for each program
- Measurement – design and deployment of data capture initiatives to contribute to the evaluation and required reporting for each program
- Reporting – collation and analysis of measurement data and supporting the completion of reporting templates for Government
- Capacity building – working with program leads in each country to build capability and capacity in data capture and measurement and evaluation
Driving improvements in the delivery of sports development programs
We have created a robust and effective approach to measurement and evaluation for use by NA across its programs delivered in the Pacific region. As a result, Netball Australia is recognised as a leader in this area and a trusted program partner for Government. In addition, there has been significant growth in the skills of country leads to administer data capture and reporting initiatives as part of program delivery and evaluation.
