Lagardere Sports owns the rights to the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Finals, which were held in Singapore from 2014–2018. The event’s key investor, the Singapore Tourism Board, was driven by the desire to promote and increase tourist visitation to Singapore. 

Kinetica worked with Lagardere to review the event’s commercial and community impact — the key to assessing the event’s success.

Kinetica was engaged to:

  • develop a robust economic and social impact methodology
  • collect, collate and assess event data, culminating in the reporting and presentation of results
  • identify opportunities to increase commercial and community benefits.

For the first part of this project, Kinetica developed a robust economic and social impact methodology, which was signed off by the Singapore Tourism Board. This methodology would form the basis of the methods used to collect, analyse and evaluate various data sets. And in turn, inform metrics for success.

Kinetica delivered a high-quality analysis that reported on the event’s success. This was delivered in an in-depth, but digestible manner. The results were compared against the investors key metric: to drive overseas visitation to Singapore.
